If I book water testing with Big Island Home Inspectors, I agree to the following terms and conditions:
Catchment
Pricing: The pricing on this website only applies to the area from Volcano, HI to Waimea, HI. Locations outside of that area are subject to a $3.00 per mile upcharge.
Testing Performed: The standard water test panel submitted to the laboratory includes analysis for Total Coliform and E. coli bacteria, turbidity (water clarity), lead, and copper, which are commonly required for VA, FHA and USDA loan approvals when a property relies on a private water source. Testing is limited to these parameters unless additional tests are requested and approved in advance.
Scope of Service: Our company provides water sample collection and delivery services for residential customers. We collect your water sample and deliver it to a certified third-party laboratory for analysis. We do not perform any testing or analysis ourselves. Our responsibility is limited to proper collection, handling, and submission of your sample.
Not Included: This service does not include water potability certification by any state or county health authority, flow rate or year-round volume/reliability determinations, or verification/inspection/certification of chlorination, filtration, or UV treatment systems. We do not provide remediation, repair, or replacement services.
Laboratory Results: All testing is performed by an independent accredited laboratory. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the lab’s results. Test results reflect only the condition of the sample at the time it was received by the lab. We are not responsible for any errors or inaccuracies in the lab’s findings or for any decisions or actions you take based on those results.
Limitation of Liability: To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of this service is limited to the amount paid for the collection and delivery service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing excludes liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Customer Agreement: By booking our service, you acknowledge and agree that our role is limited to sample collection, delivery to the laboratory, and forwarding the laboratory report, and that the laboratory is responsible for testing and reporting. By submitting a sample, you accept these terms in full.

These tests provide a practical screening of bacterial contamination, potential groundwater contamination, and general water quality. Loan requirements vary, so customers using the results for VA, FHA, USDA, or other financing should confirm their lender’s specific requirements before scheduling. Additional testing must be requested and approved in advance and may involve additional fees.

PH booking terms of use
This service is limited to an on-site pH reading at one accessible water source using a handheld pH probe. The result reflects the pH of the water only at the location and time tested. Water conditions and pH levels may change over time.
This service does not test for bacteria, viruses, lead, copper, chemicals, pesticides, or other contaminants. It does not determine whether the water is safe or suitable for drinking and is not a substitute for laboratory water-quality testing.
The service does not include an inspection of the catchment tank, private well, plumbing, filtration equipment, or water-treatment system. It does not satisfy VA, FHA, USDA, lender, permitting, or regulatory testing requirements.
The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the requested testing location. Additional testing locations may involve an additional charge.
The standard service area extends from Honomū to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Travel outside this area is charged at $3 per mile. The appointment, location, total price, and any applicable travel charge will be confirmed by phone. An invoice will be emailed after confirmation.
